Designed by Dan Maragni, the Ontario SP53 Bolo Knife features a 10.1" bolo style blade of 5160 steel with a black texture powder coat. The SP53 Bolo knife blade is full tang and 1/4" thick. The 5" Kraton handle features a lanyard hold and is grooved for comfort and grip. The SP53 Bolo knife comes complete with a MOLLE compatible black tactical sheath and is made in the USA.

Hold an edge
Love the knife but it doesn’t seem to hold an edge.

Off the top, product box in bad shape. Found what looks like slight rusting at blade tip. Blemishes to finish, edge. Knife could be a return product repurposed. Purchased with credit card with charge to Lee's innovations. Resell? Unknown

Sharp out of the box, nice make and quality build Bolo - sheath fits well, handle snap/velcro strap is a tad shorter than usable - needs adjustment but will work with patience.

One of the machetes I have purchased I have half dozen maybe 9 machetes this thing is a chopping Beast is great and a hand well-balanced could have been a little shopping when it came. But without chopping it I just took it out of the box and went to work extinct work all day without tiring me at all

OKC sets the standard
Saw my first OKC knife in Kyrgyzstan while serving in the Air Force and I couldn't believe the quality of the folder. This SP 53 Bolo is no different. From the time you hold it in your hand to put it to work, you realize you've got quite a blade in your hands. Rugged, durable, and quite functional. Beyond impressive!

Ontario Sp 53 bolo is really a nice knife. well made. good weight for chopping. Knife like enough to shave feathers for fire starting. Good knife.
