    Machete

Best machete I've ever used. Grew up in GA cutting down small pines and clearing brush. I have 1000s of hours on these and the handles never break! Needs periodic sharpening of the blade. But that can be expected. 100% recommend to anyone looking for quality to last through the years!

Great full tang blade, not too great handle

Ontario Knife company really needs to update the ergonomic design of the machete handle. For as much weight that is being wielded with one arm and hand, the handle should have a great grip and ergonomic shape. It's mainly the underside of the handle when gripping strikes pressure points on the second bone of one's fingers. To round that like the topside would do the trick or indentations for the fingers recessed into the underside. I will be wrapping mine with bicycle inner tubes to give it more grip but the same can be done with paracord. That's my only gripe, the handle, otherwise it's a solid tool and gets a solid 4.5 stars.

Great, solid made in USAA machete .

This machete is extremely solid. It came powder coated and it’s very solid steel. Surprisingly it is made in USA, and a steal for under 30$. I have a Brazilian machete (Tramontina) as a comparison. While solid, the other machete is more flimsy and you have to put protectant on the wood handle if you want it to last. The only benefit is the the other one is lighter and I actually like the wood handle. The OKN was also sharp enough to use from the factory. The sawback is great for loose bark. The only disadvantage in not including a sheath, but the price makes up for that. It also took months to get, but because of Covid that was expected. Customer service was great.
